While the original Model 700 series floodlights shielded the pilot in the air from the direct glare of the floodlamps with the controlled beam spread and the hooded floodlight cover, it was less effective in preventing uncomfortable glare when viewed from the landing pad. We have solved that problem with a new proprietary “snoot” design that adds an effective blind to the hood cover. The snoot directs the light to where it is needed and blocks it from where it is not. And it’s available on the new Model 500S single floodlight as well.
We took the Model 1100 Directional Arrow Floodlight and boosted its light output to work with the Model 700 series Dual Lamp Floodlights in providing perfect, even illumination of the heliport TLOF surface. And with the improved "snoot" hood, the light goes just where it¹s wanted.
